Real Event Designs Inc. ("Real Event Designs", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through realeventdesigns.ca and when you work with us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information we collect
- Information you give us — your name, email, phone number, event date, venue, guest count, budget, design preferences and any message you send through our contact, package or quote forms, the Drapery Studio or the backdrop builder.
- Booking information — details you provide when you book a consultation through our scheduling tool.
- Order and payment information — the items and services on your quote or invoice. Card payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not see or store your full card number.
- Website usage — basic technical information such as pages visited, browser type and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar tools to keep the site working and understand how it is used.
How we use it
- To answer your enquiry, prepare quotes and proposals, and plan, deliver, set up and take down your event.
- To schedule consultations and send confirmations and reminders.
- To invoice you, take payments and keep business and tax records.
- To improve our website and services.
- To send occasional updates or offers, only if you have agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run our business, with service providers who process it on our behalf, such as our website host (Squarespace), our rental and invoicing software (Goodshuffle Pro), our scheduling tool (Calendly), our payment processor (Stripe) and our email provider (Google Workspace). Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies that are needed for it to work (for example, remembering the items on your quote request) and analytics cookies that help us understand traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features, like the quote list, may not work without them.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and event information for as long as needed to serve you and to meet legal, accounting and tax requirements, then securely delete or anonymize it.
Keeping it safe
We use reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards, and limit access to people who need it to do their work.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or withdraw your consent to marketing messages. To make a request, contact us using the details below. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
